The United States is aiming for a broad and long-term agreement with Iran rather than a limited deal, Vice President JD Vance has said, outlining the administration’s evolving diplomatic approach under President Donald Trump.

Speaking at a “Turning Point USA” event in Georgia, Vance revealed that the Trump administration has presented a significant proposal to Tehran. The offer centers on Iran committing not to develop nuclear weapons in exchange for economic incentives and support from Washington.

“We are not looking for a small agreement,” Vance said, emphasizing that Trump’s goal is to reach a “big deal” that could reshape relations between the two countries.

According to Vance, he recently led a U.S. delegation in more than 20 hours of talks with Iranian representatives. Based on those discussions, he suggested that the administration is prepared to help Iran become economically stronger if it abandons its nuclear weapons ambitions.

The remarks come at a time of heightened tensions in the Middle East, particularly involving Iran and its regional adversaries. While Washington has maintained pressure through sanctions and military positioning, the latest statements indicate a parallel push for diplomacy.

The proposed framework appears to echo past negotiations but with a broader economic dimension, potentially signaling a shift toward a more comprehensive settlement rather than incremental agreements.

However, it remains unclear how Tehran will respond to the offer, especially amid ongoing geopolitical strains and distrust between the two sides.
