A legal notice has been issued seeking a travel ban on Muhammad Yunus and members of the interim government’s advisory council over allegations linked to the country’s measles vaccination system.

The notice, sent on Monday by Barrister Mohammad Ashraful Islam, calls for an investigation into what he described as “criminal activities” involving the alleged transfer of the national immunization program from state control to the private sector. It also urges authorities to impose a restriction on the foreign travel of Yunus, his advisers, special assistants, and former press secretary until the probe is completed.

According to the notice, Bangladesh is currently facing a severe resurgence of measles, a disease that had previously been nearly eradicated. The lawyer claims that more than a hundred children have already died, while many others are undergoing treatment in hospitals across the country.

The notice names several key figures, including Asif Nazrul, Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Adilur Rahman Khan, and filmmaker Mostofa Sarwar Farooki, among others, as subjects of the requested investigation.

Secretaries from relevant ministries, including the Cabinet Division, Health Ministry, and Home Ministry, have been listed as respondents in the notice. The authorities have been given five days to form an investigation committee and take necessary action, including imposing the travel ban.
The notice further warns that legal steps will be pursued if no action is taken within the stipulated timeframe.
