U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a stark warning that major attacks on Iran’s critical infrastructure, including power plants and bridges, could take place as early as Sunday, intensifying fears of a wider regional conflict.

In a strongly worded post on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump declared that it would be a “day of destruction” for Iran’s key facilities—something “never seen before.” He also demanded that Iran reopen the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz, warning of severe consequences if Tehran fails to comply.

The threat comes amid already heightened tensions in the Middle East. Earlier, Iran’s Joint Command warned that any U.S. or Israeli strikes on its civilian infrastructure would be met with escalated retaliation targeting oil refineries and other critical facilities across the region.

According to Iranian state media, the country’s Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters reported that recent Israeli airstrikes hit one of Iran’s largest petrochemical complexes. In response, Iran has reportedly launched retaliatory attacks on Israeli and Gulf Arab energy and infrastructure sites.

Trump had previously warned that “hell” would be unleashed on Iran if the Hormuz Strait remains closed, a move that has significant implications for global energy markets, as a large portion of the world’s oil supply passes through the narrow waterway.
The situation continues to evolve rapidly, raising concerns about a broader military confrontation involving multiple regional and global powers.
