The United States and Israel launched a series of overnight airstrikes targeting multiple regions across Iran, according to media reports.
A correspondent from Al Jazeera, reporting from Tehran, said that both eastern and western parts of the capital were struck, with loud explosions heard throughout the night.
The attacks were not limited to the capital. The industrial city of Isfahan was also shaken by blasts. Explosions were further reported in Urmia, Khorramabad, Karaj, and Qom.
Early indications suggest the strikes increasingly targeted Iran’s industrial and strategic infrastructure. In Karaj, a joint attack on the B-1 bridge reportedly raised the death toll to 13.
Meanwhile, diplomatic efforts to end the conflict have stalled. Pakistan attempted to mediate between Washington and Tehran, but the effort failed after Iranian officials refused to attend talks with US representatives in Islamabad.
According to The Wall Street Journal, Iran rejected the conditions set by the United States, calling them unacceptable. As a result, mediation efforts have come to a halt.
Regional powers such as Qatar and Turkey may now step in to take on a mediating role as tensions continue to escalate.
