Saudi Crown Prince Presses Trump for Ground Offensive in Iran

Riyadh urges sustained military action and direct US troop deployment as regional tensions escalate

Saudi Arabia’s powerful Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is reportedly urging US President Donald Trump to continue the war against Iran and initiate a direct ground invasion, according to US officials cited by The New York Times.

The report states that the Saudi leader has held multiple conversations with Trump over the past week, encouraging him to sustain military operations until Iran’s current leadership is brought down. He reportedly believes that as long as Iran’s present regime remains in power, it will continue to pose a long-term threat to the region.

Although Saudi Arabia has publicly called for a diplomatic resolution, sources indicate that behind closed doors, the Crown Prince is advocating a far more aggressive stance. He is said to have pushed for US strikes on Iran’s energy infrastructure to weaken the regime significantly.
According to the report, Mohammed bin Salman has also expressed support for a direct US ground offensive aimed at seizing control of key energy facilities in Iran and accelerating regime change.

Addressing global concerns over rising oil prices, the Saudi Crown Prince reportedly assured Trump that the current surge would be temporary.

Meanwhile, regional tensions continue to rise, with several Gulf nations, including United Arab Emirates, reportedly considering joining the United States and Israel in coordinated military actions against Iran. Officials suggest that the broader objective is to significantly degrade Iran’s military capabilities to prevent it from posing future threats.
The developments underscore a deepening crisis in the Middle East, with the possibility of a wider regional conflict becoming increasingly likely.
