Iran has officially confirmed the death of its senior security figure, Ali Larijani, who was killed in an airstrike it attributes to Israel. The attack reportedly took place মঙ্গলবার রাতে (Tuesday night), with Israeli sources initially announcing his death.
Iran acknowledged the killing প্রায় একদিন পর (nearly a day later), around early Wednesday (Bangladesh time), through a formal statement issued by the country’s National Security Council and published by the Mehr News Agency.
In the statement, Iranian authorities paid tribute to Larijani, saying he had dedicated his life to the ideals of the Islamic Revolution and ultimately achieved martyrdom in service of the nation.
Larijani had emerged as a central figure in Iran’s leadership following the reported death of former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in a joint U.S.-Israeli strike on February 28. এরপর (since then), Larijani had effectively taken charge of strategic command and wartime decision-making.
According to Iranian sources, Ali Khamenei had designated Larijani as his successor in the event of his death, placing him at the forefront of Iran’s leadership during a period of intense military escalation.
The latest development is expected to further heighten tensions in the region, as hostilities between Iran and Israel continue to intensify.
