Hamas Urges Iran to Halt Attacks on Arab Countries Amid Regional War

Palestinian group calls for regional unity to resist U.S.-Israeli strikes while warning that expanding the conflict could harm Middle East stability.

The Palestinian armed group Hamas has called on Iran to refrain from targeting neighboring Arab countries amid the ongoing war involving Israel and the United States.

In a statement issued on Saturday (March 14), Hamas urged Tehran to avoid attacks on regional states despite the escalating conflict. The statement came as tensions continue to rise following the outbreak of war on February 28.

Hamas said that under international law, the Islamic Republic of Iran has the right to defend itself against aggression by any means. However, the group appealed to Iranian leaders to avoid striking neighboring countries, warning that such actions could further destabilize the region.

The statement also called on regional nations to cooperate and unite in order to stop the ongoing U.S. and Israeli strikes against Iran.

Maintaining close ties with Iran and Qatar, Hamas stressed that ending the conflict is in the broader interest of the Middle East. The group added that continued escalation would threaten overall regional stability.

This marks the first official statement from Hamas since the war began late last month.
