Moscow says blast shattered windows and knocked staff off their feet, but no casualties reported

Isfahan, March 11, 2026:
The Russian consulate in the central Iranian city of Isfahan was damaged during an airstrike targeting the governor’s office in the city, according to Russia.
The attack occurred on Sunday and caused damage to the consulate building due to the force of the explosion, officials said.

No Casualties Reported
Speaking to the Russian state news agency TASS, Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, said no one was killed or seriously injured in the incident.

Zakharova stated that the powerful blast shattered windows in office rooms and residential apartments within the consulate complex.

Staff Thrown by Shockwave
She added that the shockwave from the explosion knocked several staff members off their feet. Despite the damage and the intensity of the blast, no major injuries or fatalities were reported.

The incident comes amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, particularly following ongoing attacks linked to the conflict between Iran and Israel.
