Over 200 Killed, 747 Injured in Joint U.S.-Israeli Strikes on Iran

Iranian state media report heavy civilian casualties, including 85 schoolgirls, as attacks hit 24 provinces; Tehran condemns strikes amid escalating regional tensions

More than 200 people have been killed and at least 747 injured in joint airstrikes carried out by the United States and Israel across Iran, according to Iranian state media.

State broadcaster Press TV, citing the Iranian Red Crescent Society, said the death toll had risen to 201 after strikes reportedly targeted 24 provinces nationwide. U.S.-based network CNN also carried the casualty figures, referencing Iranian sources.

Among those killed were 85 students from a girls’ school, officials said. Iran’s state news agency Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), quoting the prosecutor of Minab in southern Iran, reported that a direct strike on a school building caused the high number of casualties among schoolchildren.

The reported attacks mark a sharp escalation in already heightened tensions in the Middle East, as hostilities between Iran and Israel intensify. Iranian authorities have strongly condemned the strikes, describing them as a violation of international law.

There has been no immediate detailed response from Washington or Tel Aviv regarding the specific allegations of strikes on civilian sites.
The situation remains fluid, raising fears of further escalation across the region.
