Seven Women’s Wing Leaders of Awami League Arrested During Flash Rally in Dhanmondi

 Police detain activists during early morning procession under banner ‘Mujib Premik Banglar Nari’; microbus seized and driver held

Police have arrested seven members of the women’s wing of the Awami League during a flash procession in the Dhanmondi area of the capital early Friday morning.
The detainees are affiliated with the women’s wing of the Bangladesh Awami League,

whose political activities remain restricted under the current administration.
According to police, the arrests were made around 6:15 a.m. on Road No. 3 in Dhanmondi after a group of 20 to 25 activists brought out a sudden rally under the banner “Mujib Premik Banglar Nari” (Women Who Love Mujib). The procession was reportedly chanting various slogans while moving through the area.

Shah Mustafa Tarikuzzaman, Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police for the Dhanmondi Zone, confirmed the incident. He said a patrol team from Dhanmondi Model Police Station responded quickly to the scene and detained seven activists, while others managed to flee.

Police also seized a microbus allegedly used to transport the participants to the rally site. The driver of the vehicle has been taken into custody.Authorities said legal proceedings against the detainees are currently underway.
