Advisers’ Asset Statements Published: Tisha’s Wealth Rises Sharply, Farooki’s Declines

Cabinet Division releases disclosures for June 2024 and June 2025; most advisers report asset growth ahead of possible post-election transition

The Cabinet Division has published the asset declarations of the Chief Adviser, advisers to the interim government, individuals of equivalent status, and their family members.

The disclosures show that while the total assets of Cultural Affairs Adviser Mostofa Sarwar Farooki declined slightly over the past year, the wealth of his wife, actress Nusrat Imrose Tisha, increased significantly.

According to the policy issued on 1 October 2024, asset statements as of 30 June 2024 and 30 June 2025 were made public. The documents reveal that as of 30 June 2024, Tisha’s total assets stood at Tk 1,40,81,860.

By 30 June 2025, her assets had risen to Tk 2,99,89,501 — an increase of Tk 1,59,07,641 within one year.

In contrast, Farooki’s total assets decreased by Tk 11,74,000 during the same period. His assets were recorded at Tk 2,26,92,026 on 30 June 2024, which fell to Tk 2,15,18,026 by 30 June 2025.

The published list also shows that most advisers reported an increase in assets during the specified period. However, besides Farooki, two other advisers saw declines in their declared wealth.

Environment, Forest and Climate Change Adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan’s assets decreased by approximately Tk 1.13 crore, while Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Adviser Supradeep Chakma’s assets fell by Tk 16,35,000.

The interim government, which assumed office in August 2024, remains in place. It is widely expected that the Advisory Council may hand over responsibilities following the national election scheduled for 12 February.
