Pakistani political commentator and senior journalist Najam Sethi has claimed that India could respond aggressively to recent statements made by Bangladesh, warning that New Delhi may even contemplate an “Operation Sindoor”-style action against Dhaka.
Speaking to a Pakistani news channel, Sethi—who is widely regarded as close to former Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif—said India would not overlook what he described as provocative rhetoric coming from Bangladesh. According to him, India’s strategic behavior in the past indicates a readiness to take decisive action when it perceives challenges to its security or regional interests.
Drawing parallels with India’s earlier military responses against Pakistan, Sethi argued that New Delhi’s current posture suggests it may move beyond diplomatic measures if tensions continue to escalate. He cautioned that such developments could further destabilize the regional security environment in South Asia.
So far, neither the Indian nor the Bangladeshi government has officially reacted to Sethi’s comments, which have nevertheless sparked discussion among political observers and regional security analysts.
