Four Killed in Road Crash in UK, Including British-Bangladeshi Youth

High-speed collision in Bolton leaves three teenagers and an elderly taxi driver dead as police launch full investigation

Four people, including a British-Bangladeshi youth, were killed in a devastating road accident in the United Kingdom’s Greater Manchester region early Sunday.

The fatal collision occurred around 12:50am local time on Sunday (January 11) on Wigan Road in Bolton, according to police and local sources. A red Seat Leon car crashed head-on with a Citroën C4 taxi, causing catastrophic damage to both vehicles.

The impact was so severe that all four victims died at the scene. Five other people sustained serious injuries and are currently receiving treatment in hospital.

The Bolton Council of Mosques (BCOM) confirmed the identities of the deceased. Three of the victims—Mohammed Jibrail Mukhtar, Farhan Patel, and Muhammad Daniyal Asghar Ali—were aged between 18 and 19. The fourth victim was the taxi driver, Mosorob Ali, believed to be in his early 50s.

Greater Manchester Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit has launched a full inquiry into the incident. Police said CCTV footage from Wigan Road captured the moment of the crash and have urged witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.

Bolton councillor Ayub Patel described the incident as a “huge loss for the entire community” and expressed deep condolences to the bereaved families.

The tragedy has sent shockwaves through the local British-Bangladeshi community, as tributes continue to pour in for the victims.
