Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has alleged that all deaths during the July 2024 protests were orchestrated by Dr. Muhammad Yunus and people associated with him. Speaking in an audio message released on the occasion of Bangladesh’s Victory Day, she said that if proper and credible evidence is collected, the truth behind the killings would be clearly proven.
The Prime Minister said the violence during the July protests was not spontaneous but the outcome of a deliberate and planned conspiracy. She maintained that an impartial investigation would expose those responsible for pushing the country toward instability and bloodshed.
Sheikh Hasina also expressed concern over the present condition of Bangladesh, saying the people are suffering from increasing poverty and economic hardship. She claimed that democracy is currently absent in the country, leaving citizens without their democratic rights.
Reaffirming her commitment to public service, the Prime Minister said that if the Awami League is given the opportunity to serve the nation, her government would work to resolve the ongoing crises and alleviate the suffering of citizens. Restoring democracy, justice, and stability would be the party’s priority, she said.
Calling for national unity, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina urged the people of Bangladesh to stand together to bring back democracy and protect the country’s future.
