Conspiracy to Frame Awami League: Jamaat-BNP Allegedly Behind Bus Arson Plot

Neither DMP, DGFI, nor NSI have issued any official statement regarding the alleged meeting. Likewise, no comments were made by the bus owners’ association or any BNP-Jamaat leaders on the matter.

A new conspiracy to create political unrest through acts of sabotage in the capital has come to light. According to a source, a secret meeting allegedly took place between several pro-BNP and Jamaat-aligned bus owners and individuals claiming to be representatives of two influential intelligence agencies, where a plan was discussed to set fire to their own buses and blame the ruling Awami League for it.

The source claimed that the meeting was held recently within the jurisdiction of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP). Those present reportedly included individuals identifying themselves as members of the Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI) and the National Security Intelligence (NSI). It is alleged that several bus owners known for their political links to the BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami were also in attendance.

According to the allegations, the main objective of this conspiracy is to tarnish the image of the government at home and abroad by blaming the Awami League for acts of arson, thereby further destabilizing the current political situation. As part of the plan, certain buses owned by BNP-Jamaat sympathizers would be deliberately set on fire, after which a coordinated propaganda campaign would be launched through media and social platforms holding Awami League activists responsible.

Although the authenticity of these claims could not be verified, the content of the allegations has raised serious concerns. Questions have been raised since the names of agencies responsible for national security and counter-sabotage—DGFI and NSI—have surfaced in such a controversial context.

Neither DMP, DGFI, nor NSI have issued any official statement regarding the alleged meeting. Likewise, no comments were made by the bus owners’ association or any BNP-Jamaat leaders on the matter.

Political analysts note that Bangladesh has seen similar incidents of sabotage and blame games during past political crises. They caution that without solid evidence, such sensitive allegations may only fuel confusion and deepen mistrust among political parties.

Meanwhile, law enforcement officials have said that any information suggesting sabotage or conspiracy is treated with utmost seriousness. If concrete proof is found, strict legal action will be taken against those involved.
