Brandy has addressed the incident that left fans confused during a recent stop of The Boy Is Mine tour in Chicago. The singer unexpectedly left the stage mid-performance, leaving her longtime collaborator Monica to finish the concert alone.
A viral TMZ video captured the moment Brandy told the crowd, “Give me one second y’all, I gotta get my…” before walking off. Many attendees later expressed disappointment online, noting that the pair never performed their 1998 chart-topping duet, “The Boy Is Mine,” which inspired the tour’s title.
On Sunday, Brandy released a statement explaining what happened, thanking fans for their “overwhelming love, support, and — most importantly — prayers.”
“I sincerely apologize for the abrupt end to last night’s show in Chicago,” she wrote. “After weeks of nonstop rehearsals, I experienced dehydration and felt like I might faint. Everyone involved agreed that my health had to come first. I tried to return and give it my all, but due to the technical setup of the show, it was impossible to fully connect sonically with the production.”
She closed her message by assuring fans that she’s feeling better and looks forward to rejoining the tour soo
