There Is No Future of Bangladesh Without the Awami League: Adv Mubin

Advocate Mubin, formerly of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), said only the Bangladesh Awami League (AL) can determine the nation’s future; added that Jamaat‑e‑Islami Bangladesh must prove its remorse by working under Sheikh Hasina’s leadership.

Advocate Fayzul Kabir Mubin made a stern remark regarding the country’s future politics, stating that no political force other than the Awami League can bring a fruitful outcome in determining the future of the nation. At the same time, he set a condition for Jamaat-e-Islami—if they want to prove remorse for their past mistakes, they must work under Sheikh Hasina’s leadership.

He expressed these significant opinions during a Facebook Live yesterday. Below are the main points of his remarks:

On the future of the country and the nation

Advocate Mubin firmly stated that any power other than the Awami League coming to power would increase violence in the country.

He said, “Even if any political force other than the Awami League wins in the elections in order to determine the future of the country and the nation, it will not be fruitful. Rather, violence and retaliation will further escalate.”

Calling for recognition of the Awami League’s politics, he added, “Therefore, I would say, the politics of the Awami League should be acknowledged.”

Conditions for Jamaat-e-Islami

While speaking about Jamaat-e-Islami, Advocate Mubin emphasised that they must realise the mistakes of their past. He believes that Jamaat has to understand that the Awami League’s politics is the only path for the future leadership of Bangladesh.

He said, “If Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has truly realised their past mistakes and flaws, then they must understand—Awami League’s politics is the only path for the country’s future leadership.”

He warned that even if Jamaat apologises for their past, including the incidents of 1971, mere words cannot be trusted. Mubin said, “If Jamaat-e-Islami has apologised for their past mistakes, including 1971, it is a positive step. But words alone are not enough—they must prove it through actions.”

Setting a condition to demonstrate their remorse through actions, he further stated, “If they can show repentance through inclusion in Awami League’s politics and by working under Sheikh Hasina’s leadership, then we will be able to believe them.”

On citizens’ safety and rights

Stating that ensuring citizens’ safety is a fundamental responsibility of the state, Advocate Mubin said, “Ensuring the safety of every citizen of Bangladesh is the responsibility of the state. We all are inhabitants of this country—my, your, everyone’s rights are equal.”

Advocate Fayzul Kabir Mubin concluded his remarks with a political slogan:
“Joy Bangla, Joy Bangabandhu, Joytu Sheikh Hasina—Victory to Bangladesh Awami League.”

Who is Advocate Fayzul Kabir Mubin?

He is described in your note as an ex-BNP leader, meaning previously affiliated with the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).

Given his recent remarks favouring the Awami League and setting conditions for Jamaat, his change in stance appears significant; it may reflect recent political realignment or personal decision to depart BNP.
