New Delhi/Washington, Sept. 10 — Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and U.S. President Donald J. Trump have expressed confidence in the ongoing trade negotiations between the two countries, signaling progress toward overcoming longstanding trade barriers.
In a statement posted on social media, Prime Minister Modi emphasized that India and the U.S. are “close friends and natural partners,” adding that the talks would help unlock the “limitless potential” of the India-U.S. partnership. He noted that teams from both sides are working to conclude discussions at the earliest and that he looks forward to speaking with President Trump soon.
President Trump echoed the sentiment in his own message, announcing that negotiations to address trade barriers are continuing. He described Modi as his “very good friend” and expressed confidence that there would be “no difficulty” in reaching a successful conclusion for both countries.
The renewed commitment to trade talks comes at a time when both nations are seeking to deepen economic and strategic cooperation. Analysts say the outcome of these negotiations could have significant implications for bilateral relations, particularly in areas such as technology, investment, and defense.
