In a post on social media, Trump wrote that he looks forward to speaking with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the coming weeks. Referring to Modi as his “very good friend,” Trump said he is confident that both nations will be able to overcome difficulties and reach a conclusion beneficial to both sides.

“I am pleased to announce that India, and the United States of America, are continuing negotiations to address the Trade Barriers between our two Nations,” Trump wrote. “I feel certain that there will be no difficulty in coming to a successful conclusion for both of our Great Countries!”
