Balochistan Erupts as BLF Storms 30 Cities, Breaches Pakistan’s Red Zones

Quetta, July 2025 — In one of the most sweeping insurgent offensives in recent years, the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) has launched a coordinated assault across 30 cities and districts in Pakistan’s Balochistan province, claiming to have breached multiple “Red Zones” in a dramatic escalation of its separatist campaign.
The operation, dubbed “Operation Baam” (Dawn), began on July 8 and has since resulted in over 80 attacks targeting military installations, intelligence outposts, infrastructure, and economic assets tied to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
🔥 Key Developments:

  • 84 coordinated attacks in just two days, according to BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch
  • Over 50 Pakistani soldiers killed, dozens more injured
  • Nine alleged intelligence agents executed at a checkpoint in Musakhel
  • 25 vehicles destroyed, including gas tankers and mineral trucks
  • Seven telecom towers torched, five drones downed, and a local bank set ablaze
The BLF claims it has temporarily seized control of strategic zones including Makuran, Rakhshan, Sarawan, Koh-e-Sulaiman, and Jhalawan, establishing 22 checkpoints and confiscating weapons.
    🛑 Strategic Impact:
The offensive has disrupted train services, internet connectivity, and key highways, including CPEC link roads. Attacks on Coast Guard posts, FC checkpoints, and Levies outposts have exposed vulnerabilities in Pakistan’s coastal and tribal defense lines.
Pakistan’s government has yet to issue a comprehensive response, though Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti have vowed “no mercy” for the attackers, promising a full-scale crackdown.
    🗣️ BLF’s Message:
In a statement, the BLF described Operation Baam as a “strategic transformation” aimed at dismantling what it calls the “colonial administrative structure” of Pakistan. The group accuses Islamabad of exploiting Balochistan’s resources and marginalizing its people through “Punjabi chauvinism and fascism”.
While the BLF has not confirmed whether Operation Baam will evolve into a long-term campaign, analysts say the scale and coordination of the attacks mark a new phase of organized resistance in the region.
