A 20-year-old Palestinian-American man, Sayfollah Musallet, was beaten to death by Israeli settlers in the town of Sinjil, north of Ramallah, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health and eyewitness accounts. A second Palestinian man was fatally shot during the same attack, while at least 10 others were injured.
Musallet, born in Tampa, Florida, had been visiting the West Bank since early June to see family and friends. He was reportedly defending his family’s land from settlers when he was attacked. His family has called for a U.S. State Department investigation, demanding justice.
The municipality of Sinjil described the attack as part of ongoing daily assaults by settlers, accusing Israeli forces of obstructing emergency responders during the incident. A video verified by CNN showed an ambulance with broken windows, allegedly targeted by settlers.
The U.S. State Department acknowledged the death of an American citizen but declined to release further details, citing family privacy.
In recent months, Israel has escalated military operations across the West Bank, displacing thousands and intensifying settlement activity. Multiple American citizens, including minors, have died in related violence, prompting international concern over settler aggression and accountability.
