Ukrainian Attack on Chemical Plant in Moscow Region

Ukraine’s military has claimed responsibility for an attack on a chemical plant located in Russia’s Moscow region. This plant produces explosives, ammunition, and thermobaric warheads for Shahed drones. The report came from British news agency Reuters.

In a statement on Telegram on Monday, the General Staff in Kyiv said that multiple explosions were recorded near the city of Krasnozavodsk, along with the movement of fire engines in neighboring areas.

However, the statement noted that the final results of the attack have not yet been confirmed. Reuters could not independently verify the report.

The plant, located 88 kilometers northeast of Moscow, produces industrial and military-grade chemical substances, including explosives, ammunition components, and air defense systems. Established in 1915, it has played an important role in Russia’s defense industry. The facility in Krasnozavodsk is about 530 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.

This factory is linked to Russia’s state-owned defense company Rostec. It supplies the Russian Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Federal Security Service (FSB), and other law enforcement agencies.

Authorities in the Moscow region have not yet officially confirmed the attack. Russia’s Ministry of Defense has claimed that it intercepted or destroyed 91 Ukrainian drones in the Moscow region and other areas.
