Iran Plans to Restore Nuclear Program After Strikes, Says Atomic Chief

DUBAI – Iran is moving to assess and restore its nuclear facilities following recent Israeli and U.S. airstrikes, said Mohammad Eslami, head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, on Tuesday.According to a report by Mehr News, Eslami stated, “Arrangements have been made for the restoration of the damaged infrastructure. The plan is to prevent any interruption in production and services.”The strikes reportedly targeted Iran’s key nuclear sites, raising concerns over the country’s atomic capabilities and the future of non-proliferation efforts in the region. This comes amid escalating tensions despite a recently announced ceasefire. International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi had visited Tehran in late 2024 to discuss safeguards, but recent events appear to have derailed diplomatic progress.
