Mark Gatiss Joins Marvel’s Fantastic Four: First Steps in Surprise Role

Mark Gatiss, known for his standout roles in Doctor Who and Sherlock, has quietly joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The actor and writer has been cast in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, the highly anticipated 37th installment in the MCU, which hits cinemas on July 25.

While the spotlight is on Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Marvel’s iconic superhero family, Gatiss will portray a supporting character named Ted Gilbert, a charismatic talk-show host who introduces the Fantastic Four to the world during a key moment in the film.

According to IGN, Gilbert’s show will serve as a narrative device to recap the team’s origins and set the stage for their cosmic confrontation with Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his herald, the Silver Surfer (Julia Garner).

Gatiss, who co-created Sherlock and Dracula alongside Steven Moffat, adds another blockbuster to his resume, as he is also set to appear in Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning later this summer.

While his role in First Steps may be smaller than others in the star-studded MCU ensemble, fans are already excited to see how Gatiss’s wit and charm will shine through in the Marvel universe.
