Dhaka- Police detained one person from a procession organized by the Awami League’s affiliated organization, the Bangladesh Awami Swechchhasebak League, in Uttara, Dhaka, on Friday morning.
The procession began around 7:45 a.m. on the Dhaka-Gazipur Highway near Jasim Uddin in Uttara.According to police sources, the procession was held under the banner of Anisur Rahman Naim, general secretary of Dhaka North City Swechchhasebak League and a former councillor of Dhaka North City Corporation.
Police chased the processionists and detained one person during the incident.
Morshed Alam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Uttara East Police Station, said police detained the individual with posters and banners.
