Iran and Israel Were Fighting Like Schoolchildren: Trump

U.S. President Donald Trump has compared the American attack on Iran to the dropping of nuclear bombs on Japan during World War II. He stated that just as the bombing of Hiroshima ended the war, the U.S. made the right decision regarding Iran.Speaking at the NATO summit in The Hague, Netherlands, on Wednesday, President Trump said, “Iran spent trillions and trillions of dollars on this, but achieved very little. Now we’re maintaining very good relations with them.”> “But what if we hadn’t succeeded in that strike? That attack ended the war. It brought the war to a close. I don’t want to compare it directly with Hiroshima or Nagasaki, but essentially, that strike ended the conflict.”He added, “The same thing happened with Iran. That attack ended the war. If we hadn’t done it, the war would still be ongoing.”Before his speech at the summit, Trump had a discussion with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte regarding the Iran-Israel conflict. During the conversation, he likened the Iran-Israel fighting to a fight between two children at school.> “They’re fighting like hell. You can’t stop them. Let them fight for two or three minutes — then it becomes easier to stop them.”On Tuesday, when asked by journalists about the violation of the ceasefire between Iran and Israel, Trump used a vulgar term. When asked about that comment by Mark Rutte, Trump responded that sometimes a father has to use strong language.> “Sometimes you have to speak harshly. Certain words just have to be said,” said the American president.
