US Failed to Strike Iran’s Nuclear Stockpile: US Congressman

A U.S. Congressman has questioned the Trump administration’s use of “ambiguous language” in declaring victory over Iran’s nuclear program.In an interview with the BBC, Democrat Brad Sherman stated that “Iran still maintains stockpiles that are sufficient for nearly nine nuclear weapons.”He added that there has been no indication from the White House suggesting that the United States successfully destroyed the critical centrifuges used for uranium enrichment.However, President Trump has once again dismissed reports claiming that Iran’s nuclear facilities were not destroyed. Leaked intelligence reports, on the other hand, have indicated that the U.S. strike failed to dismantle Iran’s nuclear program.Speaking to journalists aboard Air Force One, the U.S. President said, “We struck perfectly,” claiming that three of Iran’s nuclear facilities were destroyed. He criticized American media reports, calling them “highly disrespectful” to those who carried out the operation.Earlier, Trump had taken to social media to criticize the media for “downplaying one of the most successful military strikes in history.”On the social media platform Truth Social, President Trump fiercely attacked the American media and their coverage of the strike.He said, “Fake news CNN and the failing New York Times are trying to diminish one of the most successful military operations in history. Iran’s nuclear sites have been completely destroyed! The public is criticizing both the Times and CNN!”The Trump administration continues to push back against reports stating that the U.S. failed to halt Iran’s nuclear program through its military strike.
