India Evacuates Citizens from Iran and Israel

Since the outbreak of the Iran-Israel conflict, both countries have suspended all aircraft takeoffs and landings at their airports. In this situation, India has taken the initiative to evacuate its citizens from Iran with the assistance of the Eastern European country Armenia.India has also begun efforts to bring back Indian nationals residing in Israel, according to the Indian Ministry of External Affairs. However, progress in this regard has not yet reached the desired level.According to official data, about 10,000 Indians live in Iran and 26,000 in Israel. Among the Indians living in Iran, several are university students. The Ministry of External Affairs reported that with Armenia’s help, 110 Indians have been evacuated from Iran in recent days, and the rest will be evacuated as soon as possible.The Indian Embassy in Iran has provided several helpline numbers for assistance. Indian nationals residing in Iran can call these numbers for help if needed. The numbers are +98 9128109115 and +98 9128109109. Additionally, three WhatsApp numbers have been provided: +98 901044557, +98 9015993320, and +91 8086871709.Meanwhile, India’s Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar said in a message posted on social media platform X that he spoke with Armenia’s Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan about evacuating Indians from Iran, and the Armenian Foreign Minister agreed to provide assistance.The Indian Embassy in Tehran stated that many Indians have already been moved to relatively safer locations from the capital city Tehran.
