Bangladesh’s Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has sent a message of condolence to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the tragic Ahmedabad plane crash.

According to sources in the ruling Awami League, Prime Minister Hasina identified herself in the message as both the Prime Minister of Bangladesh and the President of the Awami League.

The Awami League stated that in light of Thursday’s devastating plane crash in Ahmedabad, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina — the daughter of Bangladesh’s founding father Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman — sent a heartfelt condolence message to Prime Minister Modi.

In her message, she expressed profound grief and sorrow over the loss of lives and injuries caused by the tragic accident. She conveyed her condolences to the bereaved families and extended sympathy to the people of India.

She further wrote, “The plane crash in Ahmedabad has touched the hearts of people around the world. It is a heartrending tragedy that words cannot fully express. I pray to the Almighty Creator to grant strength to those in mourning to overcome this grief and to protect humanity from such accidents everywhere, at all times.”
