Tata Group to Provide ₹10 Million Compensation to Families of Air India Crash Victims

The Voice News: Tata Group, the owner of Air India, has announced a compensation of ₹10 million (1 crore rupees) for the family of each passenger killed in the recent Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad.

In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, Tata Group expressed deep condolences to the families of the deceased and confirmed that all medical expenses for the injured will be covered. The company also pledged to help rebuild the medical hostel that was damaged in the crash.

The statement read:
“There are no words to express the depth of our sorrow in this tragic moment. We stand with the families of the deceased and will provide all necessary support for the recovery of those affected.”

The incident occurred Thursday afternoon when Air India Flight AI-171 crashed into a medical students’ hostel in the Meghaninagar area of Ahmedabad shortly after takeoff. The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft was en route to Gatwick, London. There were 242 people on board, most of whom were Indian and British nationals.
