Gujarat Tragedy: Air India Plane Crashes into Medical College Dormitory, Fears of Many Student Casualties

The Voice News: An Air India aircraft carrying 242 passengers crashed today, Thursday, in the Indian state of Gujarat. The London-bound flight, which departed from Gujarat, is feared to have caused significant casualties. According to reports, the plane crashed directly into the dormitory of a medical college, where MBBS students were residing. Due to the direct impact, many student deaths are feared.

A video from inside the dormitory shows a student eating moments before the aircraft crashed into the building.

Eyewitnesses described the scene as heartbreaking and chaotic after the plane struck the college dormitory. While the local government has not yet officially confirmed the number of student deaths, several fatalities have already been verified.

A local official stated that many young lives were lost in the incident, referring to the students living in the dormitory. He remarked, “This is one of the darkest days in the history of Ahmedabad. We mourn the loss of so many young lives.”

Following the crash, massive flames and plumes of smoke were seen rising from the site. Reports indicate that the aircraft fell from a height of 825 feet. Several roads leading to the airport have been closed in the aftermath of the disaster.
