Pakistan Authorizes Military Response to Indian Attacks

The National Security Committee (NSC) of Pakistan has condemned recent Indian missile, air, and drone strikes as “unprovoked acts of aggression” and clear violations of international borders. In an emergency meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the NSC described the deaths of innocent women and children in Punjab and Azad Kashmir as a breach of international law, according to Pakistani news outlet Geo News.

The NSC’s statement accused India of deliberately targeting civilian areas, including mosques and residential buildings—actions it called war crimes. The committee warned that the full responsibility for escalating regional tensions lies with India.

The meeting reaffirmed Pakistan’s right to self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter. The military has been authorized to take “necessary retaliatory measures.” The NSC also praised the armed forces for shooting down five Indian fighter jets and drones while defending Pakistani airspace.

Pakistan has urged the international community to hold India accountable. Reaffirming its commitment to peace, the NSC stated that Pakistan will never tolerate harm to its people or violations of its territorial integrity.

Tensions along the India-Pakistan border have escalated significantly in the past 24 hours. India claims it carried out “precise strikes on terrorist targets” inside Pakistan. In contrast, Pakistan dismisses this as a pretext and is calling for international intervention on the Kashmir issue
