Lamine Yamal Breaks Vinicius Jr.’s Historic La Liga Assist Record

Barcelona star Lamine Yamal has broken a record previously held by Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jr., becoming the youngest player to reach 50 assists in La Liga, at least since the 2013–14 season.

Yamal achieved the milestone at just 19 years and 68 days old, providing two assists in Barcelona’s 3–1 victory over Sevilla.

The teenage winger has now recorded 51 assists in 159 appearances for Barcelona across competitions.

Vinicius previously set the record in May 2023, when he became the youngest player to register 50 La Liga assists at the age of 22 years and 298 days while playing for Real Madrid.

Yamal has surpassed that mark by three years and 230 days, underlining the extraordinary pace at which he has established himself at the top level.

The match against Sevilla was also a memorable night for Barcelona forward Raphinha, who scored a hat-trick. The Brazilian had previously scored three times against Racing Santander and repeated the feat against Sevilla.
