The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that its Air Force conducted a second wave of airstrikes overnight targeting a key Iranian nuclear site in Isfahan, escalating its efforts to disrupt Tehran’s alleged weapons development program.IDF Spokesperson Brigadier General Effie Defrin stated that the strike focused on the reconversion facility within the Isfahan complex—an essential step following uranium enrichment in the process of developing a nuclear weapon.“Overnight, we deepened the strike on the nuclear site in Isfahan and in western Iran,” said BG Defrin during a briefing. “On the screen, you can see the site where reconversion of enriched uranium takes place. This is the stage following enrichment in the process of developing a nuclear weapon.”“We had already struck the site in the operation’s opening blow—and last night, we struck it again in a wide-scale strike to reinforce our achievements,” he added. “This is how the site now looks following the latest strike.”Footage released by the IDF shows extensive damage to multiple structures at the site, with large sections of the facility reduced to rubble and smoke rising from targeted areas.The Isfahan facility has long been under international scrutiny due to its role in the uranium fuel cycle. The reconversion process, specifically, is seen as one of the final technical stages before uranium can be weaponized.Iran has not issued an official response to this latest strike.
