In a significant development that signals a possible thaw in the long-standing tensions within the British royal family, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly preparing to return to the United Kingdom next month for a pre-event ceremony of an international sporting competition.
According to reports, King Charles III has personally offered the Duke and Duchess of Sussex a royal residence for their stay, an invitation the couple has gladly accepted. The move is being seen by royal experts as a positive step toward mending family ties that have remained strained since Harry and Meghan stepped down from royal duties in 2020 and relocated to the United States.
Relations between the Sussexes and the royal family deteriorated sharply after the couple made a series of explosive allegations, including claims of racism and discrimination within the monarchy. Their UK residence, Frogmore Cottage, was later withdrawn, and their state-funded security arrangements were revoked.
This upcoming visit carries added emotional significance, as Harry and Meghan are expected to bring their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. King Charles has not seen his grandchildren in person since 2022, making the reunion particularly meaningful for the monarch.
