Trump Claims U.S. Has Achieved Peace with Iran, Formal Deal to Be Signed Friday

Date:

WASHINGTON, June 15, 2026 (The Voice News) — U.S. President Donald Trump has declared that the United States has successfully established peace with Iran, describing a newly negotiated agreement as a breakthrough that will bring stability and security to the Middle East.

In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump said the formal peace agreement would be signed on Friday, marking the official end of hostilities and paving the way for the gradual reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most critical oil shipping routes.

“This tremendous agreement will bring peace and security to the entire region,” Trump wrote. “Many presidents tried to make peace with Iran before me and failed. For the first time, the leaders of this region have a president who can help them achieve real peace.”

According to Trump, the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz will begin immediately after the agreement is signed, allowing for mine-clearing operations and the resumption of commercial maritime traffic.
“Oil will once again flow through both ends of the strait for the benefit of this region and the entire world,” he said.

Iran has effectively blocked access to the strategic waterway since the outbreak of conflict in late February, disrupting global energy markets and raising concerns over international oil supplies.

However, despite Trump’s reference to mine-clearing efforts, there has been no independent confirmation that mines were deployed in the strait.

The reported agreement follows weeks of negotiations and diplomatic efforts aimed at ending the conflict. Details of the accord have not been fully disclosed.

The deal has also sparked concern in Israel, which reportedly was not directly involved in the final negotiations or mediation process. Israeli officials have expressed reservations about the agreement, arguing that it fails to achieve key wartime objectives previously outlined by Washington and Tel Aviv.

The development comes amid growing international pressure to de-escalate tensions in the region and safeguard global energy supplies. Markets have reacted positively to reports of a breakthrough, with oil prices falling on expectations that shipping through the Strait of Hormuz could soon resume.

Neither Iranian authorities nor U.S. officials have released the full text of the agreement, and further details are expected ahead of Friday’s signing ceremony.
