Date:

Shakib Al Hasan has issued a detailed public statement addressing recent discussions surrounding his remarks, seeking to dispel ambiguity and reaffirm his immediate priorities as a professional cricketer.

In a message shared on social media, Shakib emphasized that his undivided attention is currently devoted to cricket, particularly as he approaches the final phase of his illustrious career. The veteran all-rounder expressed a strong desire to represent Bangladesh with distinction, aiming to deliver performances that bring pride and meaningful achievements to the nation.

Acknowledging the importance of politics in shaping a country’s development, Shakib noted that he remains committed to contributing to Bangladesh’s progress in the future. However, he clarified that such contributions are not confined solely to political engagement, highlighting that meaningful service to the country can be rendered through multiple avenues.

“Politics is undoubtedly significant for national development,” he conveyed, “but serving the country does not necessarily have to be through politics alone.” At the same time, he admitted that political platforms often make it easier to implement impactful initiatives.
Shakib further expressed hope that he will be able to conclude his cricketing journey wearing the iconic red-and-green jersey of Bangladesh, with dignity and a smile. He also sought the prayers and support of the people of Bangladesh as he strives to fulfill this goal.

The statement comes at a time when public discourse around the cricketer’s future—both on and off the field—has intensified, making his clarification a significant effort to realign public understanding of his intentions.
