Dhaka, July 28, 2026 — The Chinese Embassy in Dhaka has announced simplified visa procedures for Bangladeshi businesspeople, entrepreneurs and visitors planning to attend the 140th China Import and Export Fair, widely known as the Canton Fair.
According to an embassy notice issued on Tuesday, the fair will be held in three phases in Guangzhou, China, from October 15 to November 4, 2026. To facilitate participation from Bangladesh, special visa arrangements have been introduced for eligible applicants.
Under the new measures, applicants seeking a visa to attend the Canton Fair will be required to submit only the official invitation letter issued by the 140th Canton Fair as the principal mandatory document. The embassy said additional supporting documents, such as previous Chinese visas, travel records or company guarantee letters, may still be submitted voluntarily to strengthen an application.
The embassy warned that applications containing incorrect, incomplete or misleading information may be rejected or returned for correction. Applicants have been advised to complete online forms carefully and provide accurate information.
It also cautioned against the use of forged invitation letters, false statements or counterfeit documents, saying such practices could lead not only to rejection of the current application but also to negative consequences for future visa requests.
The embassy further clarified that no individual or private organization has been authorized to guarantee Chinese visas. Visa category, validity period, duration of stay and number of entries will be determined in accordance with Chinese regulations and the applicant’s circumstances.
Applicants were urged to remain cautious of claims such as “guaranteed visa,” “no visa, no fee,” “special channel,” or promises of approval through unofficial contacts.
For complaints or inquiries related to visa services, the embassy said applicants may contact chinaemb_bd@mfa.gov.cn or dhaka@csm.mfa.gov.cn by email. The Chinese Visa Application Service Center hotline in Dhaka is also available during working days from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The announcement is expected to encourage greater participation by Bangladeshi businesses in one of the world’s largest trade exhibitions and may help strengthen commercial engagement between Bangladesh and China.
