Elon Musk Announces Formation of “America Party” Amid Political Fallout

Date:

WASHINGTON, D.C. — July 5, 2025: Tech mogul Elon Musk has officially launched a new political entity dubbed the “America Party,” marking his most overt entry into U.S. politics. The announcement follows a high-profile dispute with President Donald Trump over a contentious spending measure known as the “Big Beautiful Bill.”
Musk, posting on his platform X, declared: “By a factor of 2 to 1, you want a new political party and you shall have it! Today, the America Party is formed to give you back your freedom.”
Citing frustrations with what he labeled a “one-party system,” Musk emphasized the need to overhaul Washington’s spending habits and reduce the national deficit. His criticisms were aimed at both Republicans and Democrats, accusing them of fostering “waste and graft.”
Though Musk cannot run for president due to his South African birth, he hinted at an aggressive strategy: backing candidates in a small number of swing House and Senate districts to create leverage in Congress.
Political analysts are already weighing in on the viability of a third party led by one of the world’s most influential entrepreneurs. While third-party efforts have historically faced steep hurdles, Musk’s vast following and media savvy may bring fresh energy—and controversy—to America’s electoral landscape.
⚖️ Whether the America Party can move from online momentum to real-world influence remains to be seen.
