An Air India flight en route from Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, India to Vienna, the capital of Austria, suddenly dropped 900 feet mid-air. The incident occurred on June 13. Since then, both pilots of the aircraft have been grounded. They will not be allowed to return to the cockpit until the cause of the incident is determined.Just a day earlier, on June 12, an Air India flight crashed in Ahmedabad. The plane was en route from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport to London. That crash claimed the lives of nearly 300 people. Two days later, another aircraft from the airline narrowly avoided a major disaster.Despite the mid-air turbulence, the Vienna-bound flight flew for 9 hours and 8 minutes and landed safely. The aircraft was a Boeing 777 model.According to Indian news outlet NDTV, Air India has announced a full investigation into the sudden altitude drop of the Delhi-Vienna flight.
