Iran Admits Massive Damage to Nuclear Program

Iran has admitted that its nuclear program has suffered massive damage as a result of Israeli and American attacks. This acknowledgment came from Esmail Baghaei, spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.In an interview with Qatar-based media outlet Al Jazeera on Wednesday, Baghaei responded to a question by saying:> “It can definitely be said that our nuclear facilities have been severely and catastrophically damaged. These facilities were relentlessly bombed by Israeli and American aggressors.”However, the extent of the damage is not yet known. Baghaei told Al Jazeera that Iran’s Atomic Energy Commission and its affiliated agencies are currently assessing the level of destruction.On June 13, Israel launched attacks on Iran’s nuclear and military installations. Nine days after the offensive began, the United States joined the operation. Following strikes on three of Iran’s key facilities on June 22, U.S. President Donald Trump declared a ceasefire between Iran and Israel the next day.After the ceasefire, President Trump posted on his social media platform Truth Social, stating that Iran’s nuclear program has been set back by decades and that the country would never be able to revive it again.Baghaei did not comment on Trump’s remarks during the interview.
