Authorities confirmed that one person was killed and five others injured in the aftermath.According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake occurred at 11:35 a.m. local time, with its epicenter located in the Pacific Ocean—23 kilometers (14 miles) southwest of Callao, just west of Lima.Police Colonel Ramiro Clauco told RPP radio that the victim, a 36-year-old man, was killed in northern Lima. He had been standing outside his vehicle waiting for a passenger when part of a wall from the fourth floor of a nearby construction site collapsed and struck him on the head.The Emergency Operations Center reported that five people were injured and are currently receiving treatment at local hospitals.
