Bangladesh Facing Alarming Security Crisis Under Interim Government, Warns Jatiya Party Chief GM Quader

Rangpur, Bangladesh –
Jatiya Party Chairman GM Quader has expressed grave concern over the country’s deteriorating security situation under the interim government led by Nobel Laureate Dr. Muhammad Yunus. His warning came in the aftermath of a violent attack on his residence in Rangpur, reportedly carried out by members of the National Citizen Party and the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.

Quader condemned the incident, calling it a direct result of the government’s failure to maintain law and order. “The lives and properties of ordinary citizens are no longer safe,” he said, adding that the rise in political violence poses a serious threat to national stability.

He further alleged that law enforcement agencies are either turning a blind eye or, in some cases, actively supporting those involved in the attacks. “If this continues, Bangladesh will be heading toward the path of a failed state,” Quader warned.

The Jatiya Party chief also accused the interim government of political bias, claiming it has been systematically obstructing the party’s activities. “The administration is barring us from holding peaceful programs, and baseless cases are being filed against our leaders,” he stated.

Quader emphasized that only a government formed through a free, fair, and inclusive election can restore public trust and resolve the current political deadlock. He urged the international community to closely monitor the situation in Bangladesh, warning that unchecked unrest could have far-reaching consequences.

The attack on GM Quader’s residence has triggered widespread debate over the interim government’s ability to ensure a neutral and secure environment ahead of the upcoming national elections.
