Police Helicopter Crash in Thailand Leaves Three Dead

The Voice News: A police helicopter has crashed in Thailand’s Prachuap Khiri Khan province, resulting in the deaths of three individuals. Another person on board managed to survive by parachuting to the ground.

According to the Bangkok Post, the incident occurred around 1 PM local time in Nong Kok village, where the helicopter crashed and immediately caught fire. Firefighters and rescue teams rushed to the scene to extinguish the blaze.

Thai Fire and Rescue Services confirmed via a Facebook statement that the two pilots and one crew member were killed in the crash. No further details have been provided regarding the condition of the surviving passenger.

Police reported that the helicopter was a Bell 212 model belonging to the Kanchanaburi Aviation Police Unit. It was returning from a mission and headed toward Surat Thani Airport when the crash occurred.

The victims have been identified as Police Major Pratuang Chulet (pilot), Police Captain Songpol Bonchai (pilot), and Police Lieutenant Thinakrit Suwannoi (mechanic).

Earlier this year, another police aircraft crashed in the same province, claiming the lives of all six people on board after it fell into the sea.
