President Donald Trump Sparks Online Mockery Over Sports Gaffe in Abu Dhabi

President Donald Trump came under fire on social media after a puzzling comment during his visit to Abu Dhabi, where he appeared to confuse the location of the 2028 Summer Olympics.

While being shown a rendering of Etihad Park — a new stadium under construction in Queens, New York for Major League Soccer’s New York City FC — Trump asked, “Will they be using that in the Olympics?”

The Olympics, however, are scheduled to take place in Los Angeles in 2028, not New York. The comment triggered an outpouring of mockery online.

“That’s going to be a hella long commute from L.A.,” one user joked on X (formerly Twitter). Another added, “He’s such an idiot!”

Trump, who mentioned he grew up in Queens, said, “That’s where they used to fix the cars and a lot of other things got fixed there.” The official, possibly trying to avoid confrontation, simply replied, “It will be available to be used.”

Despite the confusion, the moment quickly went viral, with critics seizing the opportunity to mock the president’s apparent blunder.
