Indian Army Strikes Terrorist Launchpads Near LoC Amid Tensions
New Delhi, May 10 – In response to Pakistan’s attempted drone strikes on multiple cities in Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab, the Indian Army carried out a coordinated fire assault on terror launchpads near the Line of Control (LoC). The operation, conducted during the night of May 8 and May 9, aimed to dismantle terrorist infrastructure, significantly weakening militant capabilities.
The assault was part of Operation Sindoor, launched earlier in the week, during which Indian forces neutralized nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The Additional Directorate General of Public Information (ADG PI) emphasized that the action was crucial in countering threats against Indian security forces and civilians.
On Saturday, the Indian Army successfully intercepted and destroyed Pakistani drones spotted over Khasa Cantonment in Punjab’s Amritsar, further demonstrating India’s robust air defense systems. Military officials condemned Pakistan’s escalation, stating that any attempt to violate India’s sovereignty would be met with swift retaliation.
Meanwhile, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan met with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to brief him on the ongoing security situation. The high-level discussion comes in the wake of Pakistan’s drone attacks, which led to India’s precision strikes on Pakistani military targets.
