Saudi Arabia has temporarily suspended visa issuance for citizens of several countries, including Bangladesh and Pakistan, during the ongoing Hajj season.
According to a report by Geo News, the suspension applies to Umrah, business, and family visit visas. It is expected that the restriction may be lifted around mid-June.
Diplomatic sources revealed that entry to Saudi Arabia under Umrah visas will be allowed only until April 13.
The countries affected by this visa suspension include: Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, Egypt, Indonesia, Iraq, Nigeria, Jordan, Algeria, Sudan, Ethiopia, Tunisia, and Yemen.
Sources further warned that any violation of the restrictions could result in a five-year ban on entering and staying in Saudi Arabia.
Pakistani diplomatic officials confirmed that the Saudi government has formally informed them about the decision. Pakistani Umrah visa holders have been advised to leave the country by April 29.
Saudi authorities explained that some travelers entered the kingdom on long-term visas and participated in Hajj without permission, while others overstayed after completing Hajj. These actions led to overcrowding and disorder, prompting the temporary visa ban.
