Bayern Munich, Arsenal Advance to Champions League Semifinals

Date:

Bayern Munich and Arsenal booked their places in the UEFA Champions League semifinals after dramatic quarterfinal encounters on Wednesday night.

In a high-scoring thriller, Bayern Munich defeated Real Madrid 4-3 in the second leg, securing a 6-4 aggregate victory. The match saw five goals in the first half alone, with Real Madrid holding a 3-2 lead at the break.

The game appeared headed for extra time until Real Madrid substitute Eduardo Camavinga was sent off late in the match after receiving a second yellow card for time-wasting, having earlier fouled Harry Kane.

Bayern capitalized on the advantage, with Luis Díaz scoring in the 89th minute after a quick exchange with Jamal Musiala. In stoppage time, Michael Olise added a fourth goal to seal the victory.
Earlier in the match, Arda Güler netted twice for Real Madrid, while Kylian Mbappé also found the net. Bayern responded through Aleksandar Pavlović and Harry Kane, keeping the contest finely balanced throughout.

Bayern Munich will now face defending champions Paris Saint-Germain in the semifinals.
In the other quarterfinal, Arsenal secured their place in the last four with a goalless draw against Sporting CP, advancing 1-0 on aggregate. Despite an underwhelming performance at Emirates Stadium, the Gunners held on to their first-leg advantage.

Sporting created several chances but failed to convert, allowing Arsenal to progress. They will now face Atlético Madrid in the semifinals as they aim for a place in the final.
